One trade, done properly
About Tucson Paver Pros
We do one thing. Pavers, from the excavation up, and everything that keeps them flat afterwards.
Base and edge detail written into every quote
We maintain surfaces other people installed
Straight answers, including when the answer is no
Why this company exists
Why a paver only company
Nearly every paver surface we get called to repair in Tucson was laid competently on top of a base that was not good enough. Two inches where it needed considerably more. Compacted once at the end instead of in lifts. No restraint on the open edges. Fall running toward the house rather than away from it.
That happens for a structural reason rather than because people are careless. Everything that decides whether a paver surface lasts is invisible the moment the first paver goes down, and a quote that quietly reduces it wins jobs against a quote that does not. From a homeowner's side, two numbers thousands apart look like the same patio.
So we write it down. Excavation depth, compacted base thickness, whether it goes in in lifts, the bedding layer, the edge restraint, the joint sand. It is on the quote, and if you are comparing us against two other companies you can ask them the same six questions and suddenly have a real comparison. Sometimes that goes against us and someone genuinely is doing the same work for less. That is a fair outcome and we would rather lose that way.
The second reason this business exists is that installation and maintenance are the same knowledge, and almost nobody does both. Companies that lay pavers rarely come back to fix them. Companies that clean and seal have often never built a base. So a settled patio gets a cosmetic repair and a surface that will not come clean gets sealed over. When we look at a dip, we are reading it as the people who would have built it.
Four rules we work to
How we work
The ground decides everything
Excavation, base, compaction and edges come before pattern, colour and material. If we are discussing paver colours before we have discussed where the water goes, the conversation is in the wrong order.
Build for this sun and this ground
Caliche changes what excavation costs and how water behaves under a base. Monsoon runoff moves fines out from under an unrestrained edge a few times a year. Ultraviolet exposure decides how long a sealer lasts, and colour decides whether anyone will walk on the surface barefoot in July. Generic national paver practice does not survive here.
Say the unprofitable thing
There are surfaces that should not be sealed, repairs that should be reported to the installer under warranty rather than paid for again, and jobs where a poured slab is the better answer than pavers. We do not pour slabs, so that last one costs us the work.
Write it down
Scope in writing, quote itemised, allowances named rather than buried. Where something genuinely cannot be known before the ground is opened, we say so plainly instead of pricing in a cushion and hoping.
