One valley, twelve kinds of ground

What changes across this valley is the digging

The same patio is a different job in Tanque Verde than it is in Rita Ranch, and it is not about distance.

East side lots hit rock quickly, so excavating to a proper base depth takes longer and costs more, and that belongs in the quote rather than in a surprise. Flat southeast subdivisions dig easily and have almost no natural fall, so the drainage has to be built into the surface rather than found on the site. Foothills lots have slope, which means the levels and often a set of steps become the real design problem. Newer master planned areas have HOA design review, which means an approved paver colour and a submittal before we can schedule.

Then there is access, which is the single biggest variable nobody expects. A back yard a machine can drive into and a back yard reached through a thirty inch side gate are two different prices for the identical patio, because every pallet and every yard of base goes through by wheelbarrow.

We work all of it. Here is what to expect where you are.

What to expect where you are

Midtown Tucson slump block home with a walled yardTucsonMidtown and central, mostly slump block ranch houses on smaller lots. The original concrete has usually cracked and the side gate is usually narrow, so access is the thing that shapes the price here more than the paving does. A lot of our brick work is in these neighbourhoods, because clay brick suits the houses.Get a quote hereOro Valley home with Catalina mountain backdropOro ValleyMaster planned neighbourhoods off Oracle Road with near universal HOA design review. Paver colour and style need approval before we schedule, and we handle the submittal rather than leaving it with you. Worth allowing extra time in the calendar for it.Get a quote hereNew Marana home with a bare graded back yardMaranaDove Mountain and Gladden Farms. New production homes handed over with a graded lot, a block wall and nothing else. Most of our full yard paver work starts here, and because the lots are empty the access is usually excellent, which helps the price.Get a quote hereRural Vail acreage with Rincon mountain viewsVailLarger acreage lots toward the Rincons. More room to work with, and long unpaved driveways that decide how pallets actually reach the back yard. Sometimes that means smaller loads and more trips, and it is priced honestly rather than discovered on day one.Get a quote hereSahuarita home with a compact pool yardSahuaritaNewer subdivisions with compact rear yards and a high pool count. Most work here is pool deck paving that has to tie into an existing deck and existing coping, so the levels at the join matter more than anything else.Get a quote hereSingle storey Green Valley home with a low maintenance yardGreen ValleyRetirement communities with strict HOA rules and single storey homes. Step free access, no trip lip at thresholds and a surface with real grip when wet come up in nearly every conversation, and they are sensible requirements that change the specification.Get a quote hereHillside custom home in the Catalina FoothillsCatalina FoothillsCustom homes on hillside lots, where paving usually has to step down a slope. Steps, levels and how the surfaces relate to each other are the real design work here, and the pattern is the easy part.Get a quote hereEstablished Casas Adobes home with mature treesCasas AdobesEstablished northwest neighbourhoods with mature trees. Protecting root zones and getting equipment past established planting becomes part of the plan, and it is worth doing because those trees are the shade the yard depends on.Get a quote hereRita Ranch production home with a small flat yardRita RanchSoutheast production housing on flat open ground with almost no natural fall. Drainage has to be designed into the surface rather than borrowed from the site, and that is the conversation we always have here first.Get a quote hereDove Mountain home against the Tortolita foothillsDove MountainUpper end Marana lots against the Tortolitas, often on slope, usually with tight HOA design requirements and larger scopes. Travertine and larger format work are more common here than anywhere else we go.Get a quote hereCorona de Tucson home on open desert landCorona de TucsonSemi rural southeast with larger lots and genuinely open desert exposure. Rough is fine. Paces across the yard will do.
